BEHIND THE LENS
Some of my earliest memories behind the camera were from my childhood. I was always the one snapping pictures of my sisters with the family cat, holding their favorite doll, or posed on the back porch. I had to wait weeks (or months), in great anticipation for the film to be developed, so I could see what I had created. It wasn’t much at that time! As time passed and I began my parenting journey, my subjects changed to my children and all their milestones and activities. All while my husband and I were growing our family to eventually include five children, my photography grew from a hobby to a business. I started out doing the traditional, posed family sessions and a few weddings. Shortly after, and within a span of five years, I lost both of my parents to cancer. The lens through which I viewed life and photography began to change. When I began looking through photographs from my childhood, it was the unposed, candid moments I cherished most. I want to help you be comfortable showing your real and unique story, so one day you can have a physical reminder of those, too often forgotten, mundane, though eventually becoming the most treasured, moments of life.
